New Type of Typhoid
According to
the latest research by Pakistani and foreign experts, a new type of typhoid
found in Pakistan has shown that immune drugs have no impact, and experts
emphasize the need for new strategy to overcome it.
According to
researchers of Aagha Khan University and the University of Cambridge new
antibiotics cannot affect this new type and it takes birth again.
This typhoid
germ was discovered in the province of Sindh 14 months ago and has spread to
many parts of the country and the UK.
Affected Sindh Province
According to
researchers, this resistant typhoid in Sindh province of Pakistan has spread to
the adjacent districts of Bacteria. Experts have expressed concern that it can
spread throughout Pakistan as it is expensive and complicated.
The Typhoid
Bacterial report has also been reported in Tando Allahyar, Badin and Jamshoro
districts besides Hyderabad, provincial director General Health Dr. Mohammad
Akram Khan told the BBC.
He said that
Typhoid was reported for the first time in November 2016, and it affects three
to five years of age.
Agha Khan University Research And WHO
He said that
now with the help of Agha Khan University, he is trying to know the reasons and
the University has provided 1.5 lakh vaccines. Apart from this, the Department
of Health has also launched an awareness campaign and chlorine tablets are also
being provided with the help of World Health Organization (WHO).
According to
the University of Agha Khan, Latifabad and Qasimabad area of Hyderabad are the
most infected with the typhoid germ, about 250,000 children have a new typical
bar. TVC is being vaccinated to them.
This vaccine
is the most effective solution to this kind of typhoid prevention, because of
the increasing use of antibiotics medication, other existing medicines are
becoming less effective in its treatment.
Dr. Statments:
Dr. Ghazala
Sheikh, a children specialist at the government hospital in the affected Tehsil
named Qasimabad, said that since May 2017 they notice the typhoid. These days,
if they had ten patients a day, eight of them were suffering from fever feeds.
This series
continued till November but now two patients are coming daily. The patients
coming nowadays are between 3 years to 12 years and mostly belong to the lower
middle class.
How We Came to Know About Bacteria?
Dr. Ghazala
Sheikh says patients who have been given anti-biotech drugs in antique fever
(typhoid fever) have been given the same but they did not have any effect even
after passing four days. After 4 days the patients’ blood were tested and then
we discovered this disease.
"The blood
and culture test is expensive, so we also included Agha Khan Hospital
Hyderabad. From these reports we found that the usual antibiotics are not
affecting it."
Dr. Robina
Hassan (Pathology Department) of Agha Khan University says that bacteria can
change the DNA and, in turn, they make themselves safe from antibiotics and
these medicines do not affect them.
Aga
University research have proved that the cause of this bacteria is contaminated
water. Dr. Romina Hassan says that typhoid bacteria get in the waste of the
patient and mix with water, then If this water is used or used in other goods,
the bacteria get in the human.
Director General Health Reveals
Director
General Health, Dr. Mohammad Akhtar Khan, said that, there are no facilities
available in Pakistan, which can identify germs in water, based on the
possibilities, but ultimately it cannot be said that the germ has spread due to
water.
Dr. Ghazala
Shaikh says that if there are diseases related to typhoid, but there are other
reasons, they have told parents that they should not use non-standard mineral
water bottles and water should be boiled, keep cleaning and do not fed children
from the market.
Remember
that complaints on water quality provided for drinking in Hyderabad and
surrounding areas are being investigated by court and the court decision is
executed accordingly.
800 Cases Typhoid in Hyderabad Within Only 10 Months
According to
Aga Khan University more than 800 cases Typhoid in Hyderabad within only 10
months of short period of 2016 and 2017 are a dangerous indication, Because
during the five-year period of 2009 to 2014, just 6 such cases were reported
across Pakistan.
It is The First Wave of This Kind of Typhoid in The World
Dr. Farha
Qamar, Associate Professor of Pediatric and Child Health Department of Aga Khan
University, says it is the first wave of this kind of typhoid in the world.
